June 1st
Mrs. McCrae came again and brought
a note from Mrs. Thos. Smith giving me
power to let the girl out. I told her how sorry &
shocked I was to find her daughter could not read. that I though
her daughters fall from virtue was caused by [underline] her [end underline] neglect.

Sabbath 2nd
Rev'd W. Robson 3 oclk and H. B. Lee in the even'g
all the household in health, which is a great
blessing. the general use of the bath helps to
keep in health.

Monday 3rd
Charlotte Linden has engaged to
go to "Fairfield" as general assistant
7/1 pr week with a Mr. Oliver.
Mary Brown is so naughty says she dont [underlined] intend [end underlined] to
do any good for herself.

Tuesday 4th
The Ruahin wash'g brought in at 1/2 past
7 oclk this morn'g and it took untill 2oclk
to count it.
Mr. Mills & Mr. Armstrong held a temperance meeting, and Mr. Mills, read a little essay on the "habits of the ant" which was interesting shewing [showing] how industrious, prudent & perservering they were, and exhorted us to
follow their example.

Wednesday 5th
A Police man called to ask admission for a
young woman that had lost the use of her limbs.
he found her in a hut on the Waterloo Estate, he hired
a cart and took her to the Infirmary, but they were
so full would not take her in, he then went to Hyde Park,
and they sent him here. I told him she could not
be received without a note from one of our com't
and referred him to Rev'd J. Smith.
