Tuesday 26th Nov'r
The inmates are very industrious and quiet Mary Brown
and Eliza Brace did not come to prayers I went to their
rooms and spoke to and prayed with them they
seemed much subdued and came down to their work
Eliza and Esther Brace were most incorrigble [incorrigible] swearing
Eliza said she would either commit murder or suicide
Mary Brown made her escape.

Wednesday 27th
A policeman called this morning and said he
apprehended Mary Brown and Eliz Brace amongst
prostitutes and the forty thieves last night he thinks they
will be sent to the Reformatory at Newcastle.

Thursday 28th
Went to Mrs Pawseys about situations for the inmates
Maggie Conroy is engaged to go up the Macleay
river

Friday 29th
I took Harriet Pinketh to Mrs Pawseys she engaged her
to go three miles beyond Penrith.

Saturday 30th
The inmates very quiet and orderly all day

Sunday Dec 1st
No minister until evening when Mr Tilley came and held
service My Daughter read for them - morning and afternoon
they were very quiet.

Monday 2d
the Panama Mail Mataura washing came in this morning the
inmates very tiresome.

Sarah Bates dismissed for using obscene language
