January
Went to the Infirmary to enquire about poor
Mary Ann Saunders. On my return home
I found all the younger Inmates making
a great noise. Miss Galbraith said that
she had not been able to manage them.
while I was out. I made them all come
in and give an account of themselves
so they were quiet, but about midnight Three
of them went down stairs intending to
escape, had they not been disturbed by
me.

26th
The troublesome ones were not at prayers
this morning, but finding fault with every
thing and declaring in an under tone
that they would not work. evidently Sorry
that they had not effected their escape.

27th
Poor Jane Burrows received a message
from the Infirmary, stating that her
Son died there after a Short Illness.

28th
Mr Joseph Thompson sent a box of Fruits
for the Inmates. Fanny Thirlaway has been
very trying to Day. because I wished her to
help wash, was enraged about it and intent
on going. So was oblidged to let her do so.

29th
Gentlemans Committee

30th
Mrs Graham Sent 5/. to bye Grapes also a
large Plum Cake
