And the said Tyree D Greene was led to the bar
in custody of the Sheriff of Davidson County and
thereupon being charged pleaded not guilty to the
Indictment aforesaid and for his trial put him-
self upon the Country and the Solicitor General for
the State likewise. Whereupon came a jury of good
and lawful men to wit David Vaughn. Edmund
Owen
Wilson Williams. Jacob Dickerson, Thomas Hopper
Absolom Page. George McNeill, Thomas Deaderick
Greenwood Payne, Andrew Morrison, Wm Harris and
Benjm P. Person who being elected tried and sworn
the truth of and upon the premises to speak and having
tried the evidence on their oath do say that the said
Tyree D Greene is guilty of the horse stealing in
manner and form as in the Indictment aforesaid
[a?] commend the said Tyree D Greene to the mercy
of the Executive - and it being demanded of the said
Tyree D Greene if any thing for himself he had
or could say why the Court here to judgement of and
upon the premises ought not to proceed said he had
nothing but what he had before said - Therefore
the premises being seen and fully understood - It is
considered by the Court that the said Tyree D Greene
receive ten lashes on his bare back. that he be brand-
