an April shower; and the merry sunshine
glides forth again casting over every thing
a gentle and peaceful happiness. Oh! this
is Spring. So, by this time Cousin [illegible],
you are at home again; with all your
friends and dear noble cousin Charly.
I am so glad to hear he is well again.
I can almost fancy I see Alice and [illegible]
bright eyes twinkling with quiet happi-
ness and I know how happy are dear
Uncle John and kind Aunt Mary; God
bless them. Ma does remember Tom
Nichols very well. She says the last time she
saw him he was a smart young fellow;
a taylor, she believes. What business is
he folowing now? has he a family or not?
Ma would like to hear all the perticulars
about him. I would have written to you
before cousin mine, but I wanted a
perticuarly beautiful day, so I waited
until I was taken sick. I was sick for
about two weeks and now here I am
scribbling this letter to you if letter it
may be called.

Action: Changed "[Annie]" in line 4 to "[illegible] and "[Corea]" in line 8 to "[illegible]". These are definitely names but since they were indicated in brackets thought they were indecipherable by transcriber. Could not make them out either so changed them to [illegible] for consistency.
