the wages. Some of the boys
on the road who received the
best pay except the first assistant
received money from home to
pay their expences. This is
knowing the dark side of the
picture. I know, but it costs
a person a great large amount
of money to live a year, running
about as an Engineer to say
nothing about the habits he
has a chance to contract in
the company you usually find
in an Engineer's office.
There are some very fun
[illegible]erate follows among
Engineers, Contractors, and Foreman
but they are in the Minority.
Wilber is married. He is
married Miss M.A. Bull of Dowayiae
she is a very fine woman.
Now all to what I intend
to do to gain a living. Now
I am trying to earn some money
and when I do I think quite
seriously of studying medicine.

6/13/2023 Initial review completed. CE
Action: Corrected several words on this page e.g. "strictly" to "studying" on line 26. The original letter does make the "d' look like a "t" but think this is a continuation of crossing the first "t" in "studying". Not sure of the name of Wilbur's new bride, but transcribed "Butt" actually looks like "Bull" so made the correction in line 20. Also not sure of the name given for her location in line 20. Could not make out beginning of word in line 16.
