Dear Father
No letter from you
yesterday. One came from Mr
Loomis. I enclose it. He sent
a postage stamp. By Monday's
mail we got "Hunts Merchants
Magazine" containing a biography of
Marshall P Wilder. Also by the same
mail we got a copy of the "Boston
Daily Courier" containing a notice &c
of Hon Wilder. I send the paper
by todays mail. The price was mar-
=ked when it came - Don't that mean
"notice"?
The boys got home from Chicago
late Teusday night they felt a
trifle chilly or so. Doct has been
quite well. - I have got rid of
my cough. We had a little
snow last night. My Chickens
look a little blue but none got

Looks like January 25th instead of 26th, and the "1858" was added in a different handwriting and is apparently incorrect. January 25th in 1858 was a Monday. This was likely written January 25, 1855, which was indeed a Thursday.
