Chicago Ills May 2^d 1857 Robt Kennicott Esqr Dear Sir Your favor of the 25th & Mail'd on the 28^th ult. has just reach'd me I am pleased to learn that you are making progress in collecting for the Museum. Please do not bring any of these "great" curiosities of which you speak unless it sh or be some of the young ones to be stuff'd by our faculty. Dr Evans is [illegible] I have very little hope of getting a free pass for you. Perhaps your tact will enable you to go free on the papers which [illegible] your char acter and office.
