Your favor of the 25th
& Mail'd on the 28th ult. has just reach'd
me I am pleased to learn that
you are making progress in collecting
for the Museum. Please do not
bring any of these "great" curiosities
of which you speak unless it sh or
be some of the young ones to be stuff'd
by our faculty. Dr Evans is [illegible]
I have very little hope of getting a
free pass for you. Perhaps your
tact will enable you to go free on
the papers which [illegible] your char
acter and office.
I will attend to your request in
regard to Editorials etc.

Action: Capitalized "museum" in line 8. Could not determine [illegible] words in lines 12 and 16 either.
Although Philo Judson's handwriting is challenging, I believe the illegible word in line 12 is "East" (where John Evans was at the time); and the illegible word in line 15 is "attest" (although he neglected to cross his t's).
