The Grove Feb 9th 1858

Dear Bob

Not withstanding I wrote you a long letter sunday I think another one to day will be acceptabl.

Major and Mr Clark have been down at the old house makeing labels all the afternoon, and Delia and Cora have taken pity on the "poor lonesome fellows" and gone down to visit them: Bruno says they have just started to go over to Aunt Dele's.

We have commenced having Dr Livingstons travils read aloud. we think they will prove interresting as well as instructive.

"What Dalce was doeing?" That is rather a dificult question to answer, as I don't often do the same thing two days. I can tell you what I did yesterday which will be a pretty fair specimen of the way I spend my time.

After breakfast "fooled away" an hour untill Frank and France Chandler started for Chicago. Then made up six beds swept and dusted three rooms, helped wash dishes, swept the kitchen, "combed and dressed"; and sewed, and listened to some loud reading about an hour: prepaired dinner; after dinner read "something about pictures" ect, mended a dress, sewed again, then, All went in the sleigh over to Aunt Carries made quite a long call; came home, sewed again untill tea time after tea sewed and listined to "Dr Livingston" untill eight oclock; beat M Clark at a game of chess - read - from the "Atlantic Monthly-" "My Aquarium, and several other good things.

and so ended the day - I am afraid I am not improveing my time as I aught.

Uncle Flint has been in great troubl for several weeks. Yasso broke his leg - or rather Lauranc in throwing him out of the wagon broke it for him – and Uncle Flint as you can imagine felt as badly as if it had been a human beaing that was hurt, Yasso is getting better now and we think he will soon be quite well.
