glad indeed - it is such a nuasence
to get the mail in the way we now
do.

Maj got home from Chicago fridy,
He did not go to see Carrie Clarke, and
is now provoked with himself to
think he did not. He us really[underlined]
bashful, but would not own it
for any thing; and wanted to see
Carrie but did not like to call
alone.

The weather is extremely cold.
Yesterdy the Mercury was 7 below
zero - to day it is just a little more
mild, but is still cold[underlined].

Yesterday we almost made six shirt
on the mahchine: it seems almost
magical sometimes to see what a
quantity of sewing can be accomplished
in such a short space of time.

Take good care of Father, and have
him enjoy himself lots.
