Monday Evening -
My Dear Robert -
"Why did you not tell me this morning - that I had forgotten to give you the Hyacinths? You had scarcely left the house - before I thought of it - I felt very sorry - as well as a good deal mortified - fearing - you might think - I did not wish to recollect it. Mr Pease came home this evening with a large basket full of most splendid roses - a present from Mrs Elliott - Carrie - & I [illegible] exclaimed as soon as ere I saw them - that it was too bad.
"Bob"[underlined] was not here to enjoy them - I suppose you are now at your Uncles, &is having a pleasant visit with your friends - I trust - It is. [illegible]
