This letter was probably written in 1856, one of the years that the Ohio State Fair was held in Cleveland (September 23-26, 1856) - see also a letter written a few days later (September 3, 1856) by Charles Pease's grandfather, Jared Potter Kirtland, also inviting the Kennicott's to attend the fair [GNHL RK-181]
