I recieved your list of Apples worthy recommendation & am greatly obliged - among yours I find some kinds which I do not expect J.G. Little has - of him I shall get a part of my scions for the coming winter, on our ofc, as he has bought a few thousand Houghton Seedlings the past year or two - In the event he cannot supply - do you want Houghton Seedling - 1 year plants at 6[cents] or 2 year at 8[cents] in Exchange for a few thousand scions - The varieties which I think I shall want - Stannard's Seedling - Dutchess of [Oldenburg?] - Jersey Sweet, Hislop Crab. & perhaps some others, --- We have nothing to cut scions from but 2 year old

our 3 year old apple all died out 4 & 5 years old names lost -
Perhaps you want nothing we have - some Snow Ball - Flouring Almond, Currants, Strawberries some 12 to 15 varieties -
I have on hand some 20 or 25 thousand 2 year old Seedling roots more than I want to graft. - the best roots I ever saw should like to sell at 3$ pr. M. - or I should like to contract a 100,000 grafts next spring at 6.$ to 8.$ -- Perhaps S.H. may have written you that we are trying to divide - He wanted the grafting [privelege?] entire and I thought it among the profits - and if you please, what are common 2 year grafts as they stand in the nursery [illegible] worth at cash prices, also 1 year small size. -
And how can we arrive at the value of the yard as a selling point?

I have found that the business requires patience, time, [honing?], some Capital, Customers, & something more real than promises to pay --
In establishing myself I am endeavoring to put prices as low as they can be any where. - please send me Catalogue and if what little stock I have was turned into cash would come down & give you a call
