Dr John A Kennicott

Dear Sir

We have been watching the mail and depot very patiently but have recd nothing and feel very much pleased that you have not sent our shrubbery as the weather has taken a sudden turn and as it has become so late you need not send our trees and shrubs till spring. We intended to put in a Bleekers Gage & Coe's Golden Drop plum on their own Root also 1 or 2 trees or the St. Lawrence and Regal Pippin and 1 or 2 other varieties that we did not find on your list which we consider-ed choice but entirely forgot it

Dear Dr

I have regretted much since I was at your delight-ful home that I was under the necsity of making you so short a visit (on my account) I wanted to know about some of your variets which I have not as yet propegated. I have [tested?] in my orchard 115 Varats. & to tell you as I think I am more at a loss what varietes to put in my orchard than ever before I have our 1160 apple trees in orchard Some of which look fine but many are affected on south south west exposure & some in forks 1/2 or more of my orchard are on the seeling stock

I see you speak unfavor -able of Red Astrican I find apple as yet as profitable as that - as to Bearney & Market and an excelent apple for the kitchen for our tree produses (on clay) as much as 5 of the E Harvst or the semi room (In 5) of Bow Early Joe Summer Queen with me to this date I have sold the ast. in market as tart as it is higher than the Red June Early Joe Sweet June or Ealry Strawberry I do not speak of this to go against your judgement but would simply ask how yours do So you see fir to condemn well in short I cannot write what I want to & may as well close if we have any sions you want we would like to make an exchange

Yours O.P. Rogers
