Text of Petition: To the Honble the Legislature of the State of
Tennessee:
The petition of John Boyd
[??] Sheriff of Davidson County respectfully
represents, that the services within have
been performed by him, and for which
by Law no compensation is allowed
him - He therefore prays your Honble
body to pass a Law authorising the
Treasurer of [????] District to pay the
within claim; as also a law declaring
the manner in which Sheriff thro'out
the State shall hereafter be paid for
similar services -
