Mr. Martin Friedman, Director Walker Art Center 725 (?) Vineland Place Minneapolis, Minnesota 55403
Dear Martin:
Good to have seen you at NEA meeting in D.C. I went over to NCFA to see the Bob Thompson Show. He was a very interesting painter - well worth that visit. We would be delighted to have the painting that you have at the Walker on loan at Fisk for 6 months or even longer.
We can certainly handle all costs pertaining to our borrowing it. David knows me as I have worked with Harold Hart on several occasions regarding the work of Alma Thomas. Perhaps you will wish to send David a copy of my letter to you. We always wanted to have something by Bob here. One of his sisters attended Fisk. Unfortunately, we just haven't had the money to purchase one of his works.
Thanks so much for trying to help us out in this regard, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Best wishes,
David C. Driskell Chairman

Dear David, Enclosed, a photo of David Anderson's Bob Thompson painting on loan to us. Perhaps it might be evident for a six month start at Fisk if David agrees. Let me know if I should try for you. Can you handle shipping, picking insurance costs. - Best Martin
