Dear Ms; Webster:

Thank you for your letter of March 4 con-
cerning your brother's work that is included in
a traveling exhibition called "Two Centuries of
Black American Art".

The exhibition about which you have inquired
opened at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in
September of last year. It has since been seen
at the High Museum in Atlanta and is now at the
Dallas Museum of Fine Arts. It will open at the
Brooklyn Museum on June 23, 1977. You will receive
an invitation for that event. There were no
judges in the show and no prizes were given. I
served as curator of the exhibition and selected
all of the works. The work I chose of Mr. Webster's
is called "Nativity" and is from the Collection
of the National Collection of Fine Arts at the
Smithsonian in Washington. I would be delighted to
have more information on your brother as I try
to keep an active file on the work of our artist
and write about them as I have the time and support.
I hope you will visit the exhibition at the
Brooklyn Museum.

Sincerely yours,

David C. Driskell
