Ms. Maureen McCue Producer CUE Film & Video Productions 33 Gloucester Avenue London NW1 7TJ

Dear Maureen:

I hope that you had a very fine holiday and that your work is going as planned. We had a good restful break for Christmas and New Year and I am about to be off to Egypt before returning to class.

I do not wish to be a nuisance about the return of the slides but the staff of the University is really upset with me about the slides being out for such a prolonged period. Have they been copied yet? I'm really in need of mine as well since I begin the second semester course with those loaned from my own collection. Is it possible to express them over soon?

All join me in sending warm regards to you and the entire crew.

Sincerely,

David C. Driskell

Professor Monroe Denton [redacted]

Dear Monroe:

How good to hear from you. I hope that your holidays were good. I was taken back to "good ole Georgia", Eatonton to be exact, where I was born, in October of '89 to work on a documentary film for BBC-TV. Hadn't been home in 63 years. Saw the Uncle Reamus Museum.

It would be wonderful to join you at your party but I am off to Egypt for three weeks beginning January 7. I do know and respect Beverly's work. Can't stand Steinbaum. I shall have to tell you about the plantation attitude she threw around in Nashville last summer regarding the housing of the Stieglitz Collection at Fisk University. With her, we don't need enemies.

My best to Beverly and do have a good party. I do miss the trek out to Queens and you were the only human soul around.

Sincerely,

David C. Driskell

p.s. Are you across the street from a large Catholic Church on Dean Street? If so, I know the exact house you live in. I used to visit with friends there.
