July 3d 1888
Another month has passed away & it is now
19 months since my darling precious husband
left me [it] great change has taken place in my
life. I have left Sans Souci & come to town to
live. My daughters house is not done, but in
order to hurry the workman, she thought it best
to come & live in the house. so we came June
28. The carpenters are nearly done, but the painting
will not be done for sometime. It was so lonely
at Sans Souci & so sad. I missed my darling
husband so much, I could not remain there!
I was obliged to come with my daughter. she
is the one I depend on to take care of me & make
up for the loss of my dear husband. She is as
kind to me as possible & I love her dearly. All
my children are good to me. I have great cause
to be thankful. I have more mercies than I deserve
I have not been as grateful all my life
[illegible] as I should have been. I will pray to be
so the rest of my life. I pray to God to
forgive me my sins & take me to him when I
die. I miss him [daily] & will ever mourn
him. I am near his grave & can go daily to
see him & see the place [where] I can rest
beside him. God bless us all [illegible] our
hearts & make us a united family above.
God have mercy upon me [forgive] my sins
& take me to [heaven] when I die my [darling] husband
