DR. CHARLES TAYLOR,
ninth son of Col.George Taylor, born January 3, 1755, served as Assistant Surgeon 2nd, Va.Regt., and on Oct.26, 1779 was commissioned Surgeon of the Virginia Convention Guards; retired 1781; was awarded 6,000 acres land in recognition of his services.
He married Sarah Conway (b.Nov.27,1757) daughter of Capt.Francis Conway, and sister of Capt.Catlett Conway. Her mother, Mrs. Sarah[Talliaferre] Conway, became the 2nd, wife of Col.George Taylor, in 1767, and was the mother of George Conway Taylor. Dr. Taylor lived in Orange County on the place now [1900] owned by Fountain Kennedy. He died January 27, 1821. Children:

2. Elizabeth, married Thomas Jenkins,
3. Mary Conway, married Robert Taylor, son of Robert and grandson of Erasmus Taylor.
4. Harriett Thornton, married Catlett Conway,
5. Matilda R., married William Catlett Moore.
6. Evalina, married George Morton,
7. Martha("Patsy,") born May 21, 1788.
8. Charles, born June 18, 1790.

Captain Reuben Taylor,
tenth son of Col.George Taylor, born January 14, 1757, commissioned Apl.8, 1777; 1st, Lieutenant of Canadian Reg't.; promoted to Captaincy Feb.2,1778; retire d Jan'y. 1,1783. Rec'd from U.S., bounty of 4,000 acres; married Feb.11, 1782; Rebecca Moore, daughter of Maj.William Moore and his wife, Mary Throekmorton.
Reuben Taylor lived on the opposite side of Quarles Mountain from "Midland," his father's home. He moved to Kentucky in 1799 and died there. Child ren:
1. William Moore, married Mary Osborne,
2. Francis, md.1st, Mildred Peay; 2nd, Mrs Sarah (Taylor) Ross.
3. Reuben, died young.
4. Warner, married Fannie Noel.
5. Lucy, married Benjamin Alsop.
6. Margaret married Dec.19,1788, Jeremiah Keys.

8. Benjamin, b. Feb.16, 1799, married Sarah Milburn.
Note---I have some doubts as to Reuben Taylor's wife, Rebecca Moore, having been daughter of Maj'r. William Moore. She may have been his sister, and daughter of John Moore and Mrs. Rebecca (Catlett) Conway, his 2nd wife.
Reuben Taylor married some 15 years before any of Major Moore's other children.
