15, Mr. Pendleton set off toward Carolina. I went to Collina about the partition Cellar wall. Very hot. J.Taylor went to hire a Waggon to bring Sand, Bricke, &c., Mrs James here, Negro Winney miscarried. Ch's Porter jur. had brought for my father, 50 studs 4 by 3 inches 10 feet long 291, 2/3 Feet

16 Dickinson finished partition Cellar Walls, about filling in Chimney & Cellar steps. Sawyers went away- Mr. W.Ingram gave his bond to Stephen Rice for £3.13.6 for sawing Framing & c. Weather warm- some clouds- Little shower (17) in evening.
H. Robinson came soon in morning to work for J.Taylor- Mr. Dickinson finished to the upper part underpinning building. This day being appointed to hold a Vestry at Court house, I went but only four Vestrymen were there, T.Jones' Waggon & brother James's Cart drawing Bricks &c. Little rain.
18, Went to Church, heard Mr. Waddill preach I was not well and could not attend as well as I would to his discourse. little shower of rain in evening.
19, Little shower in morning. Mr. Dickinson his apprentices & Robinson working for J.Taylor, finished oven & began Chimney to Office. Maj'r Moore, Reu. Taylor & families and Mrs. W. Madison dined at J.T's & Hd. Taylor. the latters Waggon drawing shingles & took 300 Bricks- Replanted Melon Patch- Mothershedd cut his leg.
20, Walked to the store. a Bar'l 20 d. Nails at Mr. Shepherd's bro't from Fred'g in his waggon & to bro'r James in his Cart for G.T. Dined at Mr.E.Taylors- W.Madison & wife & Miss Polly Moore there- Cousin Jn Taylor unwell, had return of ague. & fever last week- Reuben Taylor sent some Fred'g plank (for some he borrowed) of a bad quality.
21, Rainy before day. Sent Bar'l Nails to Collina, 12M 20d. saw young cucumbers.
22, Went to Court- Recd 2 Guneas of A.Madison toward discharging his bond to my father £2.16.0. Paid Cha's Porter ju'r £2.20. in part for 3000 feet feather edge plank to be del'd at the Mill at 42/Pr M. Paid Jos.Bickers 18/- in part for Timber had from him, to this date £3.6.0. he has had 2 1/2 Bar'ls Corn & is to have 1/2 Bar'l more to Ballance his acc'tin full.
Col'o James Madison told me he intended to set off towards the Northern States on Monday next. I gave him 2 Cont'l Loan Office Cert'e to dispose of at Phil'a. Rec'd Patent for 3000 acres Land on Blackfords Creek.
23, Heard that Negro Frank was bit by a snake last night on his way to Jos. Clark's and went to Chas.Taylor. I went to see him, he was not bit on the ancle, his foot and leg much swelled and said he could not walk. Applications of salt & dough & weed were made. I staid till evening hen he said he was easier & could walk tho' still swelled. Ch's Porter sent to Collina 32 studs 10 feet long, 186, 2/3 feet.
24, I paid C.Dickenson in part for work done for G.T. £4.0.0. Robinson & Overton went away in morning & C.D. finished his work at J.Taylors. Bay Colt had paled himself badly lastnight. Ch Taylor, J;Pendleton & the boys went fishing, only a few caught. Melon seed planted 19th came up. Cn Porter sent 15 rafters 4 by 3 inch 18 1/2 feet long 161, 7/8 feet. Mr. H. Pendleton of S.Carolina came in the even'g. Wm.Haynes called and took a letter for Jon'a Taylor-
25, James Taylor went with Mr. H. Pendleton to Col Madisons. I wrote to Col Madison about C.L.O. Cert'cs a pr.button and my claim for half-pay- Mr. Pendleton is on his way to Sweet Springs- John Pendleton & the women went to Ja's Gaines's. Frank returned from C. Taylors much mended. the bite only sore place not much swelled.
