29, Cloudy all night, fog in morning but cleared soon after sunrise-clear and windy but not cold- James Taylor & C.Taylor dined here- After dinner G.C.Taylor went to H.Taylors &c- John Taylor was here half an hour in evening- Ch's Taylor brought some medecine he bo't for me at Fred'g-
30, [Sunday] Uncle E.Taylor, John & Robert Taylor, Mr.T.Bell, Brothers James, Charles, Reuban & G.C.Taylor & Ja's Taylor jr dined here, windy weather but not very col.

1, Jos Clark was here, helped to kill a Bear and Breakfasted- Capt Burnley dined here- G.C.Taylor dined at C.Taylor's- A boy from H.Taylor's came to inform him *J.Taylor jr of Caroline was there and he went in evening- windy weather- [*This was afterward, Gen.James Taylor, of Newport Ky. PFT]
2, Clear day, smart frost this morning- J.Taylor jr called here on his way to H.Taylor's & left his father's newspaper- In evening I walked to Capt Burnley's & paid Mrs Burnley 9/- for making 3 Shirts- She would receive nothing for Cutting out Frank's Coat &c.
3, Cool weather, clear and windy- I rode to Court house, Reuben Taylor was settling with several for taxes, I assisted him & staid till evening. G.Taylor & G.C.Taylor dined at J.Taylor's. Jno Moore came home with G.C.T. & staid to breakfast the 4th-
4, Froze hard last night- day clear and mild- G.C.Taylor & J.Taylor jr went Fox hunting, returned to dinner. James Burnley & *J.Taylor jr of Caroline, also dined here- Except J.Burnley, the others went to Brl'r James's at night (J.B. home)- [*James Taylor jr of Caroline was James Taylor V. bro. of Hubbard Taylor and 2nd cousin of diarist. He moved to Ky., founded Newport and was Quarter Master Gen'l. of the Western Army in 1812. WKA]
5, G.C.Taylor went hunting, ret'd at night- Moses about Dairy loft- I dined at home w'th my father. Rob't Taylor borrowed 3 lb White Lead of G.T.-
6, Went with my father & G.C.Taylor to Uncle Taylor's. J.Taylor jr dined there- John Taylor & family set off to Rockingham the 4th, Going to housekeeping. Rob't Taylor & family at Uncle Taylor's- I went with him to his house- painter almost finished- Spoke to painter to paint my father's house when materials shall be ready- weather smoky and moderate. Capt Burnley was here in the morning & informed my father that one of his Steers was dead in his pasture, w'ch he had made his Negroes skin- Sent Frank for the Skin & Tallow.
7, G.C.Taylor went to J.Taylor's last night- came over with J.Taylor jr to dinner. Bro'r James went to Pine Stake Church where a Church minister is to preach to-day. [Sunday]
8, Hazy morning, low flying clouds- damp but no rain. C.Taylor & Reuben Taylor dined here- in evening I went to J.Taylor's and returned.
9, Rained a little in the night- Cloudy day but little rain. Capt Burnley, J.Taylor & Capt Conway dined here, the latter had been to Court house & went from here to see Rob't Taylor about taking Attachm't agt Waller Payne &c. My father sent George with a Sledge & got one of his Hogs Reuben Taylor had fattened with his-Reuben said he intends killing his on. Had the Hog killed &c- Capt Conway returned & staid. C.Taylor came in evening-
10, Rained a little in night and changed cooler, but no frost- Capt Conway & C.Taylor went from here after breakfast, they intend to Capt Conway's where C.T's family are- Corn put in Corn house, 26 1/2 Hogsheads-
11, Froze the ground- clear and not very cold- Heard that Reuben Taylor had a *son born to-day. [*Warner Taylor, son of Capt. Reuben and Rebecca (Moore, daughter of Maj.William Moore) Taylor, m.Dec.20, 1818, Frances Noel and had a large family-PFT]
12, My father complained that he did not rest well last night and more unwell than since he came home- C Taylor came to see him, dined and left some medecine. J.Taylor was here in evening-
