27, Snowed & sleet in the night- Cloudy till the evening when it cleared away- C.Taylor, J.Pendleton & J.Taylor jr dined here.
28, [SUNDAY] I went to Reuben Taylor's- He was gone out but returned to dinner. G.Taylor (Ararat), Wm.Moore & Gab'l Barbour were there.
29, I went to Maj'r Lee's & bought a blanket. My father went to Mr.Shepherd's & got some Goods sent him from Blairs- Reu Taylor bought some goods of Lee.
30, G.C.Taylor went to Rob't Taylor's to dinner.

1, Rachel's young child died this morning- Some ice still on the trees since last thursday and weather cold.
2, Sleet & rain & snow in the night and all day.
3, Cloudy but not very cold.
4, Moderate weather.
5, [SUNDAY] Maj'r Moore, J.Taylor, C.Taylor, Reu.Taylor and J.Taylor jr dined here. Jas Bell came in the evening, he & J.Taylor jr staid here.

7, Our family dined at J.Taylor's-C.Taylor also was there, morning mild-cold evening.
8, Froze very hard last night- Went to a Called Court on Capt Conway's Joe & Mr.Shepherd's George for Robbing a wagon- The former whipped- George burnt in the hand- Very cold day. Frost very hard last night.
9, Changed a little with clouds.
10, Continues Cloudy- not quite so cold.
12, C.Taylor walked here from J.Taylor's but went home to dinner- Reu Taylor & Alex Shepherd dined here. -[SUNDAY]-
13, G.C.Taylor went Fox hunting w'th J.Taylor jr. C.Taylor called here, he & J.Taylor are going to Richmond- I gave him a Guinea to get me sundry articles.
14, Had some Turneps taken up from Tobacco ground.
15, Had Turneps brought home, buried some in garden & put some in Cellar- Had 150 Candles made. Thompson Taylor got here from Caroline- [Son of Commodore Richard]
16, Snowed last night- left off early to-day, about 2 inches deep- Capt Burnley dined here.
17, G.C.Taylor went to Col.Alcock's- Harry Bell married to Miss Betsy Alcock. Weather very cold.
18, J.Taylor returned last night from Richmond. He, J.Taylor jr, Capt Burnley & Doct Duke dined here- My father went to Court house, called & dined with Uncle Taylor- Excessive cold weather.
19, [SUNDAY] Weather continues very cold- Reu Taylor & son, Billy, dined here- Bro'r Richard's boy came up for his sons.
20, Weather more moderate- Thompson, Dicky & Colby set off for Caroline with Dosia. I went to Col.Spencer's Sale at the Court house- Nine -[slaves]-were sold.
21, It rained & snowed last night. Cloudy & foggy today- Had 10 Hogs killed weighing as below: 127-150-152-154-162-170-173-180-184=1,635.
22, My father was very unwell last night. High fever & I believe StAnthony's fire- Fine day- Had Rogs salted- Major Moore dined here- he brought me letters from Jon'n Taylor, H'd Taylor & John Finney, which Winslow Parker brought from Kentucky. Bro'r James was here in evening-
23, Weather still good- G.C.T. went to Col.Madison's. Capt Burnley was here about noon & returned.
24, I rode to Court house- heard Geo Porter died on the way to Georgia- T.Barbour & family came to J.Taylor's yesterday & J.Pendleton & do to-day. Weather still fine.
