25, My father, G.C.Taylor, & I went to J.Taylor's, J.Pendleton & family & T.Barbour & do., Jo'n Thomas, C.Taylor, & daughter, Mrs Gaines & daughter, dined there- Alex Shepherd was there after dinner. Small fine snow in morning. Misty after it & did not lie.
26, Cleared last night, Turned cold in evening- C.Taylor dined here, returned a Guinea I let him have when going to Richmond. He bought me some medecine amounting to 6/7 1/2 & 1/2 a Cheese 3/6-

27, Went to Court, Saw Dr.Gilmer, who came to visit Capt. Wood, who is dangerously ill- Paid Adam Goodlet in full the balance for Schooling Richard & Colby Taylor £3.6.8. a deduction of one month being made for lost time last & present years was 13/4- He had been paid £. before- Capt Burnley let me have a dollar My father being unwell & weather cold, staid at home.
28, G.C.Taylor came from J.Taylor's & went to Uncle E.Taylor's
29, J.Taylor & son, J.Pendleton, T.Barbour, James Barbour DS.& Capt Burnley dined here. Bowie Pendleton was here in evening. Capt Burnley paid me £6.8.0 in full for War'ts I let him have. M.Perry informed my father that he wished to leave his business & rec'm'd Jas.Brockman.
30, J.Barbour D.S. staid here till breakfast. He & G.C.Taylor went with the young men from J.Taylor's to Herndon's Mill to Scate. Wm.Bowling was here & recommended one Biggers, to my father for overseer- I sent by W.Bowling 11/- to Mrs Steward for making Coat for Frank.
31, Hear that Capt.Jos Wood died the 29th instant at night-This day extremely cold windy- I was very unwell.

27, Rob't Richie killed in duel by W[illiam]. Glassell, at Alum Sp'gs- Miss Thurston, Miss Davenport & Miss Early died since 1st, December. of consumptions.

25, John Bell died 11 o'clock at night at his father's.

Died. Mr.John Embree, June __, supposed 96 years old.
21, F.Dade jr., died of the bite of a Mad Dog at Fredericksburg.
July Rob't Gilchrist died at Port Royal.
29, Sam'l Smith married Fanny Rowe. Old Tony died last night at R.T.'s

21, C.Taylor's slave Will died- 23, C.Taylor's slave Fanny died.
Dec 16, Boswell Thornton married to Miss Lucy Robinson, 17, Henry Bell to Betsy Alcock-29, Capt Joseph Wood died.
