of fifteen thousand dollars I have also
forward First check dated Drawn +
as above Nr 2168 in favor of Franklin
Armfield & Co for Twenty Thousand Dollars
will forward you in a mail or two
a further sum of five thousand dollars

Dear Ballard I reached this place yesterday and
found in the post office the Invoyce & Bill of Lading
for 63 Slaves together with your request what desposition
I should make of some of the negroes all of which I
will attend to when an opportunity offers the demand
for slaves is considerable not so much with sugar
planters as with the cotton planters but the invoyse price
