The Board of Trustees of the University of North Carolina met in the Library
at State College in Raleigh, at 11:00 A. M., on Friday, May 26, 1944. Governor
Broughton was delayed in reaching the building, and the meeting was called to order by Dr. Clarence Poe.

Upon motion of Judge Parker, seconded and carried, the reading of the minutes
of the last meeting was dispensed with.
EXCHANGE SCHOLARSHIPS

President Graham reported that he had received a letter from the Institute of International Education soliciting the cooperation of American Universities in
exchange of scholarships between American and British Universities. He explained that this would mean that the University of North Carolina would furnish room, board and tuition to a student from a British university in exchange for the same services to be furnished a student from this University attending a university from Britain.
