Thursday April 1, 1886

Cold, storming & disagreable -- Blustering with light snow or hail squalls -- March came in like a lion and went out like a son of a gun. April seems to be starting in the same way -- Work as usual -- Bed at 2:30 -- April Fool Day -- Not much fooling --

Friday April 2

Cloudy & chilly -- Work as usual on Mining day -- Home at 2:30 -- Setup awhile, read, etc, good fire & didnt go to bed till after daylight --

Saturday April 3

Variable but more pleasant -- letter from wife, returning pass, as she cant come, so I will go down tomorrow -- Bed at 3:30 --

At Reno Mrs Jim Keating

Sunday April 4

Clear & pleasant -- Took morning train for Reno -- Went on time & arrived at Reno at 12 N -- Found all right -- PM the Hammond girls, Alice Hull & another girl, all going home from Church to the Bishop's school called in & we had very merry pleasant chat -- afterward Mrs Keating, who used to be with us in Gold called with her sister
