Secy of State, Carson, thanking him for sending me that copy of the General Statutes of Nevada -- Work as usual -- Evening was at Theater awhile and saw Harrison & Gourlay in "skipped by the Light of the Moon," -- Very good house -- Through in office at 2 -- Bed at 3 --

Friday May 14

Same -- Mining day -- The Sparks Co in "A Bunch of Keys" or The Hotel" at Opera House this evening -- Very good house -- I was so busy I couldnt attend -- Bed at 3 --

Saturday May 15

Clear warm & Springlike -- Rose at 9 -- shaved etc -- Went down to train & met wife, who arrived 15 minutes behind time -- 10:15 -- We breakfasted at Chaumond's took a walk up & down C st -- did considerable shopping -- Left her at my room at 4 PM & she dined there -- I worked in office till 8 -- Found Mrs Tony Fox & daughter Katie at room -- took wife to theatre & the Foxes went home -- Second night of Sparks Company and "A Bunch of Keys" -- Very poor house -- About as poor as I ever saw in Va -- About 40 people present and about 1/2 dead heads -- Matinee this PM nearly as bad, on the same play -- Two nights of same play wont do in Va -- Office till 1 -- Home -- Bed 1:30 --
