Clear & hot -- 85 (degrees) -- Rose at 6 -- light breakfast -- Cal train hour late -- So nearly every day now, by reason of the Grand Army & excursion rate folks getting back from San F -- We left reno at 8:20 -- reached Va at 10:50 -- PM was up to the Savage office short time to see Keating -- Didn't see him as he is in San F now -- Work as usual -- Evening was at Opera House short time & saw about half the play of the "Golden Giant" by McKee Rankin & Cal Theater Co -- Very good $2:32* house though -- Bed at 3 -- tired --

Same -- fire alarm at 10:30 AM -- Wood shed in rear of Hale & Norcross office & residence on E st -- Fire Dept on hand -- but those from Crosby's warehouse near by put it oput -- I went to the scene -- Work as usual -- Bed at 2:30 --

Same -- Mining day -- Quit early -- Bed 2
