Snowy -- Snowstorm all day -- piled up 3 or 4 inches -- Very blustering, cold & bad -- Work as usual -- Home at 1 -- Bed at 2 -- Partly clear -- Very cold -- Snow 6 inches --

Sunday Nov 21

Variable -- clouds & sunshine -- Rose at 7 -- shaved and took 8 oclock train for Reno -- Found all right there except wife, who was down with bad cold -- terrible pains through back, hips, etc -- Kept her bed all day -- I staid home PM & evening -- Chrissie Andrews, one of the ranchers' daughters, who lives about 5 miles out, on Truckee meadows was visiting with Millie -- Bed at 9 -- About 1 or 2 inches snow in Reno & Carson --

Wife Sick -- Train Late -- Pd Mooney $12 -- $30 salary --

Same -- cold -- morning train from California over 3 hours late by reason of freight train getting badly derailed on the Summit -- I left about 11:30 -- Va at 1 PM -- Drew my last $30 salary under the new arrangement -- for all of last week -- Paid Mooney the stable man $12 for taking me down to Carson Oct 3d -- Work as usual -- Home at 1 -- Bed 2 -- Cold & freezing hard -- 42 in my room -- Splendid sleighing --
