Cloudy but agreeable -- Work as usual -- To Va in evening train -- Plenty of snow, and good sleighing -- Bed at 2 -- Very cold --

Saturday Jan. 22

Clear and pleasant -- rose at 11 -- About town and at room -- Took evening train for Reno -- Met Joe King the old watchman of Austin just in on west bound train -- We had long and pleasant chat -- He goes to Carson tomorrow -- Found all right at home -- Bed at 10 --

Sunday Jan. 23

Variable but fine -- About home -- all day -- Evening was at depot and saw the trains come in from the East and Comstock -- Met lot of folk -- Bed at 10 --

Stormy -- Morning very dark and threatening left on 8:10 train for Carson -- Arrived on time -- The Legislature met at 11, as usual -- I was on hand -- Had a lively days work of it -- Had to take the train for Va at 5:15 PM to get in my report -- Joe King rode up with me -- I showed him around a short time and went to room to work -- Got in all my report before 12 -- Bed
