Same -- At home cleaning up, etc, till 3 PM, when I went down town -- At Post office found letter from Wife, enclosing little note from Alfie, also rec'd nice letter from M Carey in response to the one I sent him a week ago, with my legislative Pioneer pamphlet -- Wrote & sent a letter to wife, by the evening express train at 4:45 PM -- its time of departure -- Was about town awhile -- Home at 11:30 -- Read and wrote -- Bed at 2 -- The circus went to Carson, where it plays tomorrow -- The regular monthly meeting of the Pioneers was held this evening at the hall -- Only five present including myself. ceremony -- Vice President S D Baker called the meeting to order and presided till I took my seat in his place, as President -- Did a little unimportant business, and when we adjourned, Otto Eckelmann of the Capital Rotisserie, one of the members present took us to a saloon & treated us, then to his rotisserie where he treated us to hot coffee and baked beans -- Delavan, Baker and myself, Lee McGown, Secy, having goneback to his office,he being Under Sheriff, jailer etc -- Four constites a quorum at our meetings, now, so we had rather of a slim crowd at this the

first regular monthly meeting under my Presidency -- The Resolute base ball club of this city went down to Carson today and played a match game with the Amateurs
