Friday March 22

Very blustering -- Passengers from Va say it was a terrible wind up there last night, nearly equal to that of January 3d -- The Mint shortage all the talk -- Bed at 12 --

Saturday March 23

Clear & pleasant -- PM I wrote & sent "Capitol Notes" for Journal. Also wrote an item -- "Up and Down Street" -- & put it in Evening Tribune, giving the grade or fall of the main street -- Carson st - throughout the town. (It can be seen [pasted?] on 2nd leaf back from this) Bed at 12:30 --

Sunday March 24

Clear & pleasant -- PM and evening at Cutting's office writing & fixing up this Journal to date -- Got letter from Kinzle -- Nevada City, Cal -- Bed 12 --

1895 -- Capt Constant -- Aunt Lucy's Death
State Prison Commissary -- Aunt Lucy A Batterman Dead
Wife's letter -- My Journal Written up to date --

Monday March 25

Variable, but warm and pleasant -- I see by newspapers that Aunt Lucy A Batterman died at Oakland last Saturday -- PM & evening I was at Cutting's room, writing up this Journal -- Bed at 12.

Tuesday March 26

The same -- Completed writing up my Journal in this new book this PM and evening, to date. Have been keeping it jotted along in my reporters
