Monday -- Rose at 7 this morning, wrote three page letter to the Gardnerville Record, going without any breakfast to get it off in mail at 10:30 in time on the Gardnerville stage -- Got letter from SL Tribune inclosing draft on WF & Co for $8.20 for letters published Feb 4, 26 1/2 inches $3.05 -- Feb 25, 22 1/2 inches $2.60, and March 4, 22 inches, $2.50 -- Total $8.20 -- But they missed paying me for my letter of Feb 15, 1/2 column -- Bed at 12 -- Starlight cold and very blustering and dusty -- My right testicle is terribly swollen to ten times normal size from some cause or other from yesterday -- I don't know -- Very sore and has to be slung up --

Cloudy, cold, blustering and disagreeable -- Sick day for me -- Morning I worked making a sling for my testicle, which troubles me badly -- Got chilled from a cold already started, with a restless night last night -- Was at Arlington and got warmed up, also got a big hot dose of brandy,
