for it -- About 62 yrs old. Alex J Chalmers died from Sunstroke yesterday PM near Reno -- Both old friends & acquaintances of mine -- Bed 12 -- Not so here. What's matter with Carson and Nevada? We think we are all right -- E E Bingham, formerly of the Tuscarna Times-Review and chief clerk of the late Assembly is now lessee of the Reno Journal, commencing tomorrow -- John H Dennis is in with him as editor --

Ozark Music -- My Gold Ring Lost & Found -- 1901 Killing Heat in the East -- Breezy Mrs S J Fox Selling Out

Monday July 1, 1901

Clear, breezy & cooler -- Whole City decorated grandly -- nobody ever saw the like -- Lots of strangers getting in and all the Midway show people will arrive tomorrow -- I am all right in Tribune closing of big suit -- Evening took a walk down to the Ozark saloon where Tim Dempsey is running the bar -- Had lots of nice violin and piano & bass viol music & songs -- Bed 12 -- Somehow this morning in making my toilet, shaving etc my wedding ring, gold, was lost from my left little finger, wiped, or fell off anyhow -- Discovered loss about 4 PM down town -- Went straight home
