Dear Harry,

I tried to call you tonight, but Pat said everyone was out. I may be able to call tomorrow, but also I may be so tied up that I won't get a chance.

My Atomic Energy Commission deal here really ran into a lot of delays, problems, etc. but they have all been worked out and Monday, June 22 has been set as the closing date with all parties involved. It will be good to this job finished and get on with Verdi again, though I will have to come back here regularly as the work progresses.

Unfortunately that operation last week threw me way off schedule; but it could not be helped. I had just reached the stage where that neck was so painful and the pressure so bad I could not work, think, or sleep. Thank goodness it is behind me, no malignancy, and the surgery is healing nicely the doctor says.

Harry, I will have to stop in Chicago one day and in Oklahoma City one day, then I'll fly into Reno before going on down to Beverly Hills to meet with Herb. Then as soon as I get back from that meeting, you and I shoul get together and work out a program for the Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, and Soil Conservation meetings, as I'd like for you to sit in with me on them. We have a lot to gain.

By this time I expect you are up to your neck with the rodeo, Squaw Valley and all the other summer activities. Alton Jack tells me that you had another wet month of May. So I expect the ranch is really beautiful. I am eager to get back and get on with our program; but this AEC deal just had to be finished, as it was the necessary prelim to what I have in mind for financing Verdi.

Best regards to you and Joan, and hello to all the gang.

Sincerely

Clemons M. Roark

Hi Harry

Herb will be in NY Monday. I'll probably fly back there to meet him Tuesday or Wed.

How's everything with all of you at the Ranch?

Herb's attorney, Martin Borell, is working with me on the sale.

Best regards to all -- hello to Joan

Clem
