Dear Joan and Harry,
Hell, I'm home and partially settled in my own little apartment. Last week was quite a hectic one -- what with keeping the chin up and desperately trying to find a place of my own. I finally had to take a furnished efficiency for a couple of months until a larger unfurnished apartment becomes available. I thought about looking for a house, but decided that I don't need the problems involved with owning a house at this time.
The only thing that is completely settled here is that I am divorced -- and darn glad of it!
I'm still having trouble with my

aunt for she is siding with my ex-husband's family and is supporting his contention that the boys should be with him.
I have secured a good lawyer here and he is of the opinion that I have a very good chance of winning custody even though there has been quite a scheme afoot to discredit me in every way. So it looks like I have a court case headed my way. Judges are only people and justice is not always perfect, so I'm aware that I could lose. But I've got to at least try. My boys need their mother.
I'm feeling fine and hope that all is running well at the ranch. Thank you for helping me through quite a difficult period in my

life. Whatever happens in this court case, at least I know I'm more capable now of facing the worst than I was eight short weeks ago.
Tell Cora and Lil and Irene hello for me and that I'm really existing quite well on hamburgers and milk!
My love to all the guests that I know and regards to any others that may have arrived since my departure.
Affectionately Martha
