I saw Clara Maria & Willem Van de Wall* the other day & we all talked mostly about you and how they loved it there. He is being successful with his music project -- has just 2 wks. ago been apt. National Chairman of the -- what-ever-it-is of music -- a long name I cannot remember & which is to give him full control & support in launching

I told him about you & The Great Waltz & he roared about you criticizing him for doing the same thing -- which is about what it is as he tells it --:

About 'Joe the boot black' paying taxes to support the universities -- & not even getting a song out of it. Now he is going to make it possible in his work for Joe the boot black

I met an old flying acquaintance on the street today who is considering a divorce. His name is Jorden Orff -- (He is Hungarian I think) -- He has written several books on flying & as far as I know been very successful (but if they are like his flying I don't esp. want to read them -- oh-h-h-h-) well --

but a divorce is another thing & so is his coming West. He has no attorney -- so I gave him you at once -- also [illegible]

-- Just don't get out the band for him all at once on first night however. Just be your own dear self. Being cordial will be quite enough -- because to hear him talk one might think he is God Almighty. And he isn't.

I don't know how much money he has. But enough. I wouldn't go under 3 hundred however -- unless I [illegible]

350 -- wouldn't hurt. But I don't know. His wife is the one with the money -- & now that she has made it possible for him to write his books he very likely has some of his own.

I hope I haven't made you dislike him.

His books are translated into all languages he tells me.

[Illegible] -- he wants to ride -- & play tennis. I told him you are lovely & he is very happy
