Moline, Ills. Sep 10th 1915
Honorable-
Mr Governor.
Salt Lake City, Utah.
Dear Sir: I write you in
behalf of Joe Hill a man condemned
to be shot on Oct 1st 1915.
I ask that you in the name
of Justice pardon this man and thus
save him for a better purpose.
His trial seems to have been
nothing but a farce and therefore
he should have been a free man
all this time but since law, such
as it is now-a-days is law and
he has been sentenced to be shot,
I ask that you use your pardoning
power in behalf of this man
not criminal. Hoping that you
will do this in behalf of Justice. I am
Resp yours C. A. Gustafson. Moline
