The I.W.W; that Gerry was arrested on the charge of defrauding
a woman out of some money; that he had gone to McDonald the
candy maker and other business men of the city and wanted to
protect their property from any damage the I.W.W. might do;
that he wanted $30 a day for his work; that upon inquiring into
his past record, they found him to be nothing but a detetive
crook; that it was these kind of detectives that they were afraid
of. Hedberg said that there never was a threat made by
anyone whom he was acquainted with, but that they did send
lots of protests.
