Madrid. Iowa. Nov. 14 1915

To the Hon. Governor of thee State of Utah,

Dear Sir:-
We the Swedish speaking people of Madrid,
Iowa. S.B. of A. Lodge, do hereby petition you to spare Joseph
Hilstrom's life for the present, and allow him a new trial.
As we read the press reports, it appears to us, that the
evidence thus far, is not coclusive enough to warrant a death
sentence. You as a Governor of a great State, should be willing
to stay execution for further developments in the case, because
we think you are a Christian, and as such we believe you will.
In the name of God and good Christian Government we hereby
sign names..
