Dear Sir: -- We the undersigned citizens of Sioux City, Iowa, petition your Hon. to give the case of Joe Hill your immediate consideration. We are firmly convinced that Joe Hill's conviction is based purely upon prejudise against him on account of his affiliations, the evidence against him being of the flimsiest circumstantial kind. On view of the facts we ask your Hon. to extend to Joe Hill a pardon, or grant a stay of execution until such time as a Writ of Errors can be registered or his case brought before the Supreme Court of the United States, as we believe that a new trial before unprejudised men will mean his acquital.
