Sir! I call upon you
in the name of human
justice to use the power
bestowed on you in com-
muting the life sentence
of Joseph Hillstrom, whose
life or dead now depends
upon the makup of your
mind. I ask you as a
man to follow the example
of the former governor of
Georgia in the Leo Frank case
and obey the impulse of
your inner manhood, as
against the wishes of
some of your fellow citi-
zens.
