Dear Sir We the undersigned do hereby protest against the execution of Joseph Hill for a crime that in our minds he never committed. and we ask you to pardon him. as he was only convicted on circumstantial evidence. Which we the undersigned think is ground for reasonable doubt. Hon. Governor, do you really think that any man should be convicted on circumstantial evidence?

Dear Sir - We the undersigned legal voters and citizens of the United States of America, who believe that we are the greatest nation on Earth and that we have the best form of government of any nation now extant, but who beleive that the best forms of government can be made better and we who vote to make our form of government better instead of worse, hereby petition you as Governor of the great state of Utah to interfere in behalf of Joe Hill, the working class Poet and author, who is condemned to be shot next October by the dominant. tyrannical and despotic Capitalist class now in power in our fair State of Utah. Utah, please Mr. Governor, don't besmirch the fair name of Utah!! God have mercy on those who murder Joe Hill, and we believe that you will give him immediate and full possession of his rights as a free American citizen. Please pardon Joe Hill and restore him to liberty. We had read the history of his trial and know that he is innocent. Yours Very Respectfully

Ironton Ohio Sept 26th 1915 To the Governor of the State of Utah in persueing the pages of the Socialist press our attention has bin called to the case of Joseph Hillstrome who has bin sentenced to be shot Oct 1st 1915. Now it is a question weather our comrade has had a fair trial and we believe him innosent. The old theory of takeing an eye for an eye or a tooth for a tooth has out lived its day and time and this civelesation is about to religate such injustice and cruelity to the rear and we expect to hav a progressiv State as we supose the State of Utah to be to refrain from takeing the life of an inocent man We the Socialist enter our protest and demand a fair trial for our friend and Comrade Joseph Hillstrome.

Now all of our aquaintance with you hav bin throw the public press and we believe you to be a fair minded man and would like to hav you consider his case at once
