Dr. H. S. Scott,
906 Walker Bank Bldg.,
Salt Lake City, Utah.

My dear Doctor:-
I am deeply appreciative of your letter
of November 20th, expressing your approval of my
action in the Hillstrom case. Your letter would
have been acknowledged before but I have been overwhelmed
with other matters which have made it impossible
to reach my correspondence before now.

After receiving so many threatening and
vicious letters, it is a source of satisfaction to
learn that the good people of this community and
state are so loyally behind the officials in their
efforts to enforce law and order and I wish to assure
you that your vigorous, outspoken expressions
of condemnation of those who seek to overthrow our
institutions of government has been potent in arousing a
sentiment which has curbed the anarchistic
tendencies of many who had congregated in this state
to do acts of violence.

Again thanking you and with the compliments
of the season, I am

Cordially yours,

Governor.
