Dear Sir:—

Congratulations for standing up like a man
and doing your duty.
The President's policy of trying to soft-soap everything
and everybody ends by pleasing nobody.
Substituting "elocution for action" in this country
has been weighed in the balance and found wanting.
This nation has been fed so much peace-piffle and pap
by the valient exponents of the pork barrel that when a
real man performs a manly act all good Americans feel like
shouting for joy to find that the breed is not absolutely
extinct [strikethrough].
