Know all men by these presents that
we Jacob Forney Superintendant of Indian
Affairs for the Territory of Utah, now residing in
Great Salt Lake City in the County of Great Salt
Lake
and Territory of Utah, as principal and
A. Humphreys and Curtis E. Bolton
of said County and Territory as sureties are held
and firmly bound unto the people of the
United States in the Territory of Utah, in the
penal sum of one thousand dollars, lawful
money of the United States, and for the payment
of which will and truly to be made we hereby
bind ourselves, our heirs, administrators
and assigns jointly, severally and firmly,
by these presents.

In witness whereof we hereunto set
our hands and seals; this twenty seventh
day of June A.D. 1859 at Great Salt Lake City
Territory of Utah.

The conditions of the above obligations
are such that whereas the above bounden
Jacob Forney Superintendant of Indian
Affairs as aforesaid, has on this day been
appointed guardian of Rebecca, Louisa,
and Sarah Dunlap; Ambrose Miram,
William Taggit; John Lewis, and Mary
Frances Hawn
; Charles and Anna Francher
Elijah Williams, and Sophronia Mary Hough
Betsy and Jane Baker; and Prudence Angeline
and Jane (surname unknown) are minors
under the age of ten years, and survivors
of the "Mountain Meadows Massacre" so
called, which said children are now in
