Unsure of conventions regarding brackets spanning multiple lines, stricken text, and denoting embossed stamps.

Utah State Archives and Records Service

You don't need to worry about the brackets around the party names. That is more formatting and layout, whereas our goal here is to provide text that may be searched.

For stricken text, if the sentence reads well without, leave off the word(s) crossed out. This will also be added to the transcription conventions and instructions.

Embossed stamps do not need to be transcribed. Most of what they contain are in the document itself.
