Dear Sir,
Being informed by F. R. Whitwell Jr that you have the Settlement of Barque Favorite Claims will you do me the favour of giving me the Amount of the Claim that Mr. Whitwell as Agent presented. I as 1/4 owner of Said Barque, signed the instrument but do not remember the Amounts I have put in a Claim for Personal Property destroyed, but none for my Services the 14th part of Cargo not Insured, I relied on the Other-Owners to Allow me this 14th but as circumstances have changed I presume you will have the kindness to acknowledge my dues, there are but two others I think who have any demands, the Remainder - Officers & Crew
